About the Blog
Quid Sit? — roughly translating to “What is it?” — is the starting point for all philosophical inquiry. For the most part, when I’m not posting on amusements or hobbies, this blog explores the meaning of things.
As a Catholic, I believe in universality. More precisely, I believe in the sacramental nature of the universe. This blog often focuses on those areas I find God, whether it’s in the music of Bob Dylan, an afternoon fishing on the lake, or trying to steady my shooting hand.
About Fr. Josh
I was born in 1980 in Omaha, Nebraska. If I consider anywhere home, it’s Nebraska.
Growing up, I also lived in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and Decatur, Illinois.
I attended the University of Illinois @ Urbana-Champaign, where I decided I cared more about English Literature than Biology and Neuroscience. Later, I studied philosophy under the Benedictines at Conception Seminary College in northwestern Missouri. I received a Masters of Divinity and an S.T.B. (Sacrae Theologiae Baccalaureus) from the University of St. Mary of the Lake, Mundelein Seminary, and was ordained a priest in June of 2010.
I enjoy literature, philosophy, target shooting, fishing, art, sports, and fine Belgian beers.
I do not enjoy emotivism, intellectual dishonesty, pragmatism, seriousness, or Brussels sprouts.
